Update
I've done something very much unusual here today, I've left the news on all day. I don't usually bother because the news is a source of mostly bad news and the last thing I need to drive this depression deeper is more bad news about anything. I worry enough about myself, my dear friends and family members. Many would find the news coverage today really horrid, but for me, a gal who grew up in Central New York and is somewhat accustomed to such weather, I find it absolutely wonderful.
So how bad is it, really?
Many areas have around 18-20" of snow and the meteorologists are calling for another 4-6" tonight.
Nearly everything was either closed all day or closing early due to the snow. No public transport (buses, trains or planes), no museums, no shopping (the malls all closed at 4pm) and more than likely no restaurants (except the few businesses that were staying open to see if they'd get foot traffic).
They're already closing schools for next week. They figure since the mid-winter break is supposed to start Wednesday anyhow, they'd just go give the kids an extra couple days off. The main roads may not be in good shape for Monday anyhow...nevermind the sideroads (I think the term to describe them was pitiful).
Churches are actually CANCELLING their Sunday services.
Yeah...you read that one right.
According to the maps, iggy's getting the brunt of the storm now....and it'll be headed towards Dorkys' shortly there after. Don't blame me, I didn't send it. MY intention was to keep a bit more of it and then send it across the pond to Tori.....

It was like this Christmas day 1969. My grandparents STILL made it to my (parent's) house, about an hour late, but on Christmas morning to see us little guys open our presents - we spent ten minutes just getting the front door open - and they had to park down near the street since no one was shoveling snow on Christmas!
...but seriously LadyStyx... nuffs enuffs now... it can stop....
...really...
...any time now...
....please....
...I'm beggin' ya...
Really?? Gosh, we haven't got anything! (knock on wood)
I'm glad you're happy about it, lol! I haven't seen that kind of snow in a longggg time. Bella is going to be so jealous. Up for a Bella visit???
Poor Iggy!!
I know Styxie is loving every minute of that snow!
OMD Iggy..I saw the pics of Philly..my goodness! Stay at home as much as possible!
Do me a favor..Keep the snow! Pleaseeeeee I don't like snow..it's pretty..but...people here can't drive on dry roads..and when they are wet or icy..well..you can imagine!
Oh..the weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful...Nice to look at from a warm home...BUT a mess to deal with! I always wondered..how something so beautiful can be so stressful!

I'm so happy we didn't get any of that storm. LOL
I missed all the snow, since I headed down south on Friday. But I'm headed back up DC way tomorrow. Mr. Fairway says I'm in for quite a "treat." Stay warm and dry, and fire up the hot cocoa!
Some of it made it here. I have no problems with anyone sending me more though! This is definately nicer than the rain we were having not long ago!
When I heard how much snow you were going to get, I knew if anything could cheer you up, it would be this!
