Day 24

Day 24: A song that you want to play at your funeral.

Actually, the person who made up this list really got that wrong. If it's your funeral, that means you're dead so how can you play a song?

Anyhow. Any of these songs would be fine to play at my funeral. Each would be very appropriate, to say the least. Actually, play 'em all.

Daughtry: Home

John Lennon: Free As a Bird

Bon Jovi: Thank You For Loving Me

Then again.... this one would be awesome to go out to....

Sounds like with all those songs, nobody would get a chance to stand up and give an eulogy.

Hmmm... I think I would want "Le Carnaval des Animaux" (The Carnival of the Animals) by the French composer Camille Saint-Saƫns.

Actually, there were several more I could have chosen. Maybe I should have a playlist ready and tell them to skip the eulogy............

Hey Styxie - Jopete did have a playlist ready for his funeral. And it didn't include anything remotely sappy!

The one song they darn well better play at my funeral is "It's a Wonderful World".

Oh this one is easy..my boys know that there are only 3 songs I want played at my funeral when I die.

Mansion in the Sky (upbeat and happy :)) (This is not the old song I've Got A Mansion Just Over the Hill Top) It's on Ricky Van Sheltons "Don't OVerlook Salvation"cd
In The Garden..I've always loved that hymn
And..She Talked Alot about Texas (cal smith)

Since it's my funeral, I can pick any song I want. How about...

So Long (It's Been Good To Know You) by Gordon Jenkins & The Weavers. Unfortunately I can't find it on You Tube due to copyright protection. :-(
I think link should get you to a 30 second snippet on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FP86JG/ref=dm_dp_trk23

When a friend passed away 13 yrs ago (wow has it been that long?) I picked out the music that we played at her wake. It was all her favorite songs. I hope someone does that for me when I go.
