Day 29

Day 29: A song from your childhood

There are several. None of which I remember. Well, none that I remember from back then. I've heard them plenty enough in the following years.

The song that was #1 on my birth date:

The song that my mother said I requested most often, much to the absolute shock of her dj friends:

And this one, which needs no explanation at all.... unless of course you didn't hear the story. Those that caught my streams heard the story often enough.

Kylie Minogue - The Locomotion

Apparently I used to know all the moves when I was about 3, and used to do them whenever it played. And Carl would do them with me and apparently loved the fact it even said in the song "my little baby sister can do it with ease" because she/I could.

I remember your streams well, Styxie. I had to laugh at The Streak and the fact that you and your mom requested it often. Too funny.

My mind immedidately went to old children's records that we played nonsense songs over and over. The fist one that came to mind as "The Jenny Jenkins" song. It went like this:

Oh, will you wear white, oh my dear, oh my dear
Oh, will you wear white, Jenny Jenkins

No, I won't wear white, 'cause the colour is too bright
And I'll buy me a foldy-roldy, tildy-toldy, seek-a-double
Use-a-cause-a roll to find me roll
Jenny Jenkins, roll

Then they'd ask about all other colors with different responses. Total nonsense!!!!

Punkn, that song is so cute!

I have so many songs from my childhood, I don't think there's enough room here to list them. My parents always had the radio on or a record playing. So to pick one or two?

"Muskrat Love" by The Captain & Tennille (one of the first non-kids records I received)

Anything from the Music Man soundtrack. I loved singing along to all the songs except "Goodnight, My Someone" and "Being In Love", they were too sappy and boring, lol.

Hmm... I didn't listen to "mainstream" music until I went to college I think...

My brothers and I used to bellow out "Old McDonald had a Farm" but go out of way to find strange animal names and/or sounds.
