5.9 earthquake hits Virginia, jolts N.Y. and Carolinas
I'm fine. The "kids" are freaked. Gotta still inspect the house. Gotta find the cat too... havent seen her since it hit. The epicenter, depending on who you listen to was anywhere from 80-94 miles south of DC and since we're 35 miles SW of DC, well it was a bit closer than I care for comfort. I'm startled, but ok. Coulda been worse. Coulda been stronger and happened on this last weekend... that's fodder for another entry.
No need to call. Save the bandwidth for the emergency crews.

Thank you for letting us know. I was already wondering.
Hope you found the cat, and that both kids have calmed down by now.

Thanks for letting us know. When I heard about it on the news earlier I thought of you right away. If this post hadn't been here I'd have been e-mailing you to see if you were OK!
Hope you found Dharma, and that both the kids - and you - are feeling calmer by now.
P.S. And if you're wondering why it took me so long to be worried... I only hear news in our morning, since that's when I have it on for a bit, so it was this morning before I knew about the earthquake.
Hope you found the cat. I'm glad you are okay - I felt that quake up here - it rocked and rolled me in an office chair on wheels.
Now to survive the oncoming hurricane!
Thought of you, Welly and WildFire..(they live in one of the Carolinas..I can't remember..have to look up there snailmail addy) Glad you are okay. Hope Dharma calms down and you find her okay.
