Silly husbands

So...here I am busy at the computer, listening to tunes and cleaning up the projects floatin around the laptop when my darling hubby emails me from work. His usual emails are "What ya doin? How are the kids?", basically an "I Love You and miss you lots" communications (kids referring to the furbabies). Another question that's usually sent is an inquiry about supper to which I generally send a one word response (I hear Karla already...) FOOD. Then if specifics are desired the response is : hot or cold, in a bowl or on a plate (Karla, stop laughing). Well today, hubby decided to forestall the answer he KNEW he'd get by emailling this:

"What type of edible food substance, hot or cold, that is served on a plate or
bowl, will we have this evening?"

Gotta love him.

I texted Matt today to see if he had any ideas for dinner. His reply was "I don't really have a taste for anything."

I responded with "Are you going to be home tonight?"

He said "I don't know how busy we are."

Finally, I said, "Then what the hell do I care what you want for dinner, what do you think the kids would like?"

Same principle, you are just nicer and funnier.

"Food" was the answer I would get as a kid when I asked what was for dinner. I would then reply with the standard "But what kind of food?" and of course, that's all I can remember of those conversations. I have absolutely no recollection of how my mom responded. Really sad to only remember parts of things, it ruins the whole story.

*chuckle* Most of the time when the kiddo asks this question (not in such exacting detail as your hubby's version), I simply reply "food". "What KIND of food?" is her next question, to which I reply "the edible kind!" That really frustrates her. She'll usually say next "No, WHAT are you making for dinner?!?!" And I tell her she'll just have to wait and see. *chuckle*

With the hubby, it's one of the first questions of the day "what are we having for dinner?" I reply "I don't know, I haven't thought that far ahead yet". His reply to THAT is along the lines of "oooooh, sounds good!" or "I LOVE that meal!" *chuckle*

LOL Kati! Yeah I hear ya. Hubby's comments used to be much like your kiddo's.

Supper was some browned up ground chicken tossed in with some leftover rice. As I graze nearly non-stop from 1130am til supper, it's pretty much all I can handle at that point. I shoulda made a veggie but I'd already had a huge salad and didnt feel like any more plant matter. I chased it down with a mango-nanner smoothie for dessert.
