Holy craahp! It's that time of year already??

You know the time of year I'm talking about. the time of year that Styx goes into a frenzy and disappears (oh wait, I already did that... they'll never notice....) for the next several months while praising the creator that invented the Hi-def tv. American Idol season!

Only this year's gonna be different. There isn't going to be any loopy Paula to keep things interesting on the show. This will be (supposedly) Simon's last year. Top things all off, I'm still very much addicted to my games over in Crackbook. If Chicagolady hadn't been so kind as to remind me, I surely would have missed the first few weeks dealing with the tortureaudition rounds. Now the huge question is:

Which addiction is going to win out?

Surely I don't have enough hours in the day to deal with both, right?

Or...am I going to go insane trying to get it all done?

So much to do to get ready.... time to make a check list.

01) get note book out and in customary place on desk
02) either sharpen pencils or test pens to make sure I don't run out of ink
03) wash and iron panties in case there is a decent male singer or three worthy of a good pantiflinging......

Did I forget anything?

I have no idea how they are going to do the show without Simon. That's like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the peanut butter.

LOL!! You're so crazy!

Honestly, I mostly like the beginning of the season when the reallllly bad singers and off the way characters are featured. And it's not going to be the same without Paula and then Simon too? The show will die a quick death.

I think Ellen will do a good job this season. As far as Simon leaving the show goes, once he's gone, I'm sure the show won't be far behind.

04) stock up on healthy munchies
05) dust off tv screen
06) (re)teach furkid not to ask you to go out doing the show
07) put nail polish within reach in case an sudden Glambert mood hit ya
08) save time by not ironing the panties (you will need at least a half dozen)
09) save more time by using thrown panties to re-dust tv as needed
10) re-program telephone answering machine to say, "I'm watching IDOL you fool!! GO AWAY 'til its over (the season I mean)"
11) accept sniffs and tears from Iggy as he's gonna miss ya until what? June?

I'm sure I'm missing a few... :)

When Simon leaves, I leave. I just can't do the show without him.

Considering a couple of the comments, I'm gonna bring the response I sent to Yaya right on over here.

me neither...first the jelly goes this year (Paula) & then this next yr the peanut butter (Simon)... whatcha got left??? Nuffin but Wonderbread because without those 2 the show`s toast.....

@Jeannie: The audition rounds are not necessarily my favorites, but necessary if Im going to try to pick early favorites. The last couple years the talent's been fairly good which made this a tad more difficult.

@AK: I think she'll do ok. Im going to reserve judgement until we get into competition though. I like the fact that they picked someone who isn't from the music industry, but instead just someone who knows what she likes. She loves her music so there just might be some of her getting up and dancing... more so than Paula ever did.

@Iggy. LOL! Man, leave it to you to come up with several other things Im going to need to do to prepare. Holy cow, I don't think Im gonna be ready!!

@blueviolet: I'd say ditto, but I know me.... I'd tune in to see what kind of trainwreck resulted. I won't be surprised if they announce this as the last year... period.

@Deanna: Honey, there's only pantithrowing or cheering or booing. I NEVER get to the point of wanting to throw rotten tomatoes (too much of a mess for a silly-assed tv program).

LMAO! I love Iggy's suggestions!

I agree, not sure what will happen to Idol without Simon. It may not last long after.

Show is starting out very interesting so far.

*makes mental note not to bother wondering where Styxie is when there's a lack of posts on her blog between now and June*

And breathe woman! Otherwise you won't make it to next week. I actually totally forgot the season was coming back til a few days ago and I still went ahead and canceled my cable service last night. So I'm going to have to keep up through you :)

Yep...its that time of year again...American Idol. Should be interesting this year with Ellen as a judge...I think she will do a good job. Once Simon leaves I think the show will fold...it has already lost a lot of viewers. I don't really get into it until the top 20 perform and they get down to business of competing.

I didn't watch the whole show last night, my head hurt and I was on the computer. BUT I didn't kinda, sorta listen. And it was UGLY!!! They didn't have one stinkin person worthy of a golden ticket on yesterday. They gave some away, but ugh!, they won't last long in Hollywood!!!!

I never did like Chicago much,....except for Denise, OF COURSE!!!
