Today's entry brought to you by Karla

Ok. This one's going to be a quick one because I ~really~ must get to bed (I should have been there an hour or so ago as it's going to be a long day).

1) We know you are a gypsy at heart. Have you or would you ever consider joining a circus or fair to move around constantly to feed the gypsy side of you?

Two horses grazing next to a gypsy caravan wagonNo I haven’t as of yet, the closest I came to feeding that gypsy nature of mine is that trip that I took in 2003...when I ran. The entire trip I only spent 1 week in a hotel. The rest of the time I was with friends and family.

I'm not certain I'd be fit for fair or circus work to be honest. Although part of me really loves the idea of being out on the road and would relish waking up in a new location every few days, there's this other part of me that realizes that it means alot of work packing my stuff up from week to week to get ready to go to a new location. I just couldn't imagine having to haul all the stuff around that I "couldn't possibly live without" Scene from Spaceballs where they're walking across the desert with her royal highness's matched luggage
Not that I'm Princess Vespa and her matched luggage NOR do I insist on my industrial strength hair dryer (hair dryer? WTF is that?), but I DO bring alot of things with me to keep me occupied so I'm not bored out of my mind just sitting around. Then, of course, there's all the clothes I insist on bringing simply because I'm not sure how long we'll be gone OR what I'll want to wear OR "just in case we get stuck somewhere".

However, if I had a personal assistant that did all that for me and I could just concentrate on relaxing and doing what I want when I want...then hell yeah!

Oh....some of y'all have answers on the last entry... you may wanna pop back over and grab 'em.

LOL I'm pretty sure Gypsies don't have personal assistants. And I couldn't exist without my hairdryer, or my flat iron, or my curling iron, or my..... well there is a reason we had so much luggage when we went on our cruise.

I'm such a home body, I could never not have a home base.

I'm reminded of the wonderfully sage words of George Carlin.

"A home is where you keep your stuff"

"You can't have everything, where would you put it all?"

"If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?"

How about a follow up question? If you were in a traveling circus - what role(s) would you play?

well I honestly thought you would of really considered it! LOL But yeah you would have to do all that packing and unpacking and well I wouldn't want to do that at all!!! So you'll have to hire Iggy as your personal attendent LOL

Wow...I'd LOVE to have a personal assistant. Or at least someone to grade all these papers for me!

Sure they do Punkn, they're called kids :). You should see what we bring just for a weekend...the rolling suitcase, and at least 2 totes. Week long trips are worse.

Hula: I hear ya hun. As much as I love to travel, not having a home base can be very disconcerting. That was one of several things I didnt like about my 2003 trip.

Iggy: Considering Im afraid of heights (although not afraid to fly, go figure) and Im a klutz and a half at times...only suitable task that I can think of at this time that would put me infront of an audience is a clown. Then again...all that damn make-up would really wreak havoc on my poor skin. Oh wait! I could be a Ring Mistress :)...with the set of lungs on me I wouldnt need a megaphone.

Karla: A sweetie like iggy for a P.A.? I'd hire him in a heartbeat.

Melissa: I worked for a school for 4 yrs and did a lion's share of my then husband's paperwork. So long as it is multiple choices and T/F questions, I'd be glad to help!

nope, I couldn't do that. Home is my favorite place in the world!

Well now, if you've ever watched a television show with a circus in it (think Bones from just a few weeks ago) you'd know they take their homes with them. They have trailers or campers that they drive to each new place, and you never have to pack your stuff. Just the circus stuff, lol.

Maybe you could be the girl they shoot out of a cannon? All you gotta do is climb in, lay there, and land in the net. Sounds simple, right?

I am an overpacker, I could not leave things behind, PLUS I would find NEW things on the road!!

I could live like that if Kelly'd let me. But he wouldn't have it. And what I'd own would be easy to pack up when needed for moving on. What I'd need for myself and Kero combined could easily fit in the big suitcase we own. So there'd be plenty of room for it all inside a gypsy caravan. Plus, it would be a great excuse to own a horse. LOL!

I could never be a gypsy. I just love home too much.

So as a PA my job would be to pack up and stow away all the elephant "mutt mitt" bags?

I could do that.....
