So.

I got a call today.

322 days and the letter was dated August 30th. This means there's only actually 318 days left.

Until when?

Until that fkn idiot who made my life a living HELL is maxed out in his sentence.

Maxed out meaning that he's spent the entire term of punishment incarcerated with no parole.

Maxed out meaning there more than likely will NOT be a half-way house because he got out early.

Maxed out meaning that no one else is going to be accountable for his whereabouts except him.

Maxed out being that I will have no damned clue where he will be and that I could turn any corner and end up face to face with his ugly, nasty self (especially considering that he LOVES the Civil War and I do live near a battlefield).

Worried?

Fk ya.

yeah I'm still here

Decided to play hooky from FB today because there are just so many entries to catch up on so I'll be doing some reading today. Or maybe I'll drop another entry in the Padded Room.... or a nice cuppa tea and read a book? So many ways to sit and do "nothing" it's hard to choose. Maybe another entry in here's in order? Or better yet, one last one for the Journey blog as I suspect that's gonna be closed pretty soon. Maybe I should repurpose it and use it for something else entirely.....

Got the following in my LOLCatz email the other day and figured considering my last entry, this might be a great way to get back into it. Although... I have been dropping entries nearly daily in the Home page (all pictures, but at least it's something) and I did drop a couple in the Padded Room over the last week and a half to two weeks.

... I was trolling the blogs a couple days ago and honestly got a few caught up, somewhat. Pretty bad when some of the blogs you normally never miss go into the double digits of unread. *sigh*

ANYHOW... a couple days ago I got caught up in Dorkys' blog... and one of the last entries I read for the day was the one with the link about the guy who really Really REALLY loves rainbows. The parody she has it linked with is absolutely priceless (must watch at least half of the original video before watching parody otherwise it makes no sense).

Then today.... this shows up in my LOLCats email:

Not that I'd blame anyone for not hanging around. It's truly no one's fault but my own. I haven't exactly been the best bloggy friend in the world. There's no way I can say that it's because there's nothing to say, because I have plenty I could be talking about, a whole year's worth infact. However, I just haven't felt like it compounded with the addiction (which got worse as I got introduced to 3 other games... *sigh*). I keep saying that I'm going to weed a couple of them out but I can't seem to choose which 2 to toss. I mean the one game has alotta time invested, while 2 of the other 3 seem to be a tad more interesting at this point...

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who came in to wish ranger (hubby) a Happy Birthday. He wanted me to pass along his thanks. :)

I've been trying to get around to the blogs as I can. It's pretty sad when some that you'd never miss end up having entries into the double digits that you need to catch up on! Now that Idol season is over, I won't be reading those other 3 sites as much because I'm not needing to keep on top of things as much. That cuts down on about 85% of the reading I do daily. I got through about half of them the other night. Going to try and get another 20-30 entries read before going into ~~Crack~~Facebook.

As I was catching up, I came across a certain blog that pretty much took aim at friends that disappear and choose other hobbies over this. Sorry, I don't deal with snark like that too well. You'll noticed I stopped commenting and I haven't read a single blog entry after that. I probably won't either. I'm sorry you take offense at what I do as a hobby and I'm sorry you're hurting, but that wasn't cool. Next time, try dropping a line if you feel I've been too quiet. Others have, and I answered as soon as I got their note. All I know is when I find something a small group of us would enjoy, I make sure to include you in the emails. You haven't bothered participating when we get going on stuff like that. As for my "friends" on the other site, yes the list is substantial and no I don't talk to all of them... but there are a great many I ~do~ manage to talk to every day. Again, best bet... drop me a line there. I answer all those daily as well. In fact, it's the first thing I do when I get in. Oh wait, you can't, because you aint bothered to send a friend request even though we have a few common friends. Ah well. Your loss. Yea, I know I could always send one along... but after that snark, I don't think I'll bother. Oh and your commenting ~when~ I drop a post... well you don't do it all the time because from January to May I was dropping at least twice a week over in Styx Picks and I haven't seen you over there not once, although I know for a fact you watch the program. *gets off soap box*

As for the Mommy bloggers, I'd like to apologize. I don't often comment on your blogs simply because you have something I've been wanting. I know you're proud of your kid and it is YOUR blog to do with as you see fit, however it's really hard to visit when I don't have one of my own and there's only so many ways that I can say "oh how cute" or "how absolutely darling". However, you bloggers are actually why I needed to drop this post today. I was attempting to catch up in my magazine reading (which fell behind when we moved and never really caught up on) and I saw a link in Redbook that y'all may enjoy. I read the first few entries and was simply in stitches. Yeah, it's alotta kid based stories, but funny is funny no matter how it's delivered. The blog is called Mommy(and Daddy)Lingo and it has story upon story about the funny stuff parents end up having to say to their kids (one is titled "Um, stop making Batman kick your pee pee"). She's only got 11 followers at the moment. Well, 12 if you count me but I'm in private right now. Anyhow, I thought you ladies might just enjoy some of it, it's a good read.

Gotta go. I have a project I need to get done and a package to get ready to go out tomorrow or the next day. A surprise that I cannot talk about until the recipient gets the package. At that point, most of what I want to talk about just might decide it's time to be written.

*WHEW* Was that ever a busy 10 days with company! Don't get me wrong, I totally enjoyed it. I've remembered what I've been missing this whole time. Something I've been desparately needing for a good while now and more than likely the reason WHY I'm so damned cranky all the time. I need face time with family. Not just any family, MY family, blood or otherwise. Over the course of the last 2 decades, I havent been getting that and dammit, I MISS it. Oh sure, we have a friend or two that occasionally visit, but it's always trips out to shop or grab a bite to eat... not anything like I had growing up. Chill, eat supper and whip out the board games until the late hours of the night. *sigh* NYBro? You're welcome for the hospitality... but I really need to be thanking YOU. So thank you for being my friend and spending time at our humble abode (and the lovely RAK pressy!!). Can't wait for your next trip out.

Now comes the hard work... clean-up and organization (as well as attempting to get my life back to some form of normalcy). On my to do list:

01) tweak & upload to the Flickr account the scads and scads of photos I clicked (got a few up this morning so the early risers have something to glance at) as we went and did ALOT of touristy things.

02) upload the videos of the same various places

2.5) panic because Im missing a half day's worth of pix & vids thanks to the laptop dying on us in midtrip (we went to Baltimore for a couple days)... I so hope the last half of the B&O Museum is still in there somewhere!

2.75) pray as I attempt to revive the laptop long enough to retrieve said pix & vids (make sure to open a bottle of Riesling and have copious amounts of chocolate on hand....)... also pray as I search the harddrive because if they aint there, I'm gonna cry.......

03) switch out the cold weather clothes with the warm weather ones (hence the title of the blog) because the temps changed early this week

04) catch up on my reading in the blogs (I popped in a few last night but I haven't made it to everyone's yet, gonna be a while)

05) put panties away because this season of Idol ~SO~ does NOT deserve a panty-throwing session or even thoughts there of

06) spring clean (yeah right)

07) catch up in my Facebook emails and consider dropping out of a few groups... to be honest, I made it in there twice during the whole time NYBro was over and ya know.... I barely missed it at all (apologies to any of the FBers reading this)... maybe it's time to consider moving on in that area of my life (it'd certainly make the friends list a bit more manageable...)

08) Get pictures of the new additions to the dolly family, stuffed animal club and the beautiful RAK that NYBro brought me.

I think that's it for now. There will be other entries to come... I mean... I HAVE been missing for what, 3 months now? Until then, feel free to explore the Flickr account on the left there to peruse the pictures that I'm loading.

I know.... I been such a bad bloggy buddy! Not makin the rounds, not writing and not playing! *sighs* Gonna be worse the next couple weeks as I have company coming on Monday and later in the week we'll be outta town for a few days. Be sure to keep an eye on my Flickr account because we have some touristy things planned (another trip to the aquarium!) while there and a couple places planned for when we're in town here.

YAY!!! WE.GOT.SNOW!!!!!

Holy cow, we got another decent snowstorm. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was back in New York again. The area averages 8" of snowfall in a winter season. As of December's snowfall, we'd already TRIPLED that. We got another 15-18 inches here (some people got more like 20,25, 30 and 35 inches in this storm). Another like this and we might catch up to my NYBro (who told me the other day that they've had a mere 70" this year). I've got the pix in my Flickr account for those that really want to see more, but I'm going to stick a few in the entry that haven't been posted to that account (nor Facebook) yet.

Yes, the snowbunny is very very happy. I spent a good amount of time mid-week til Friday hoping for a good dumping and doing a virtual snowdance in Facebook (by the way, I think I've finally convinced the 1000+ acquaintences over there that I'm sufficiently certifiable). One of my nearest and dearest (who actually lives in state and is in an easy driving distance.... well easy drive sans snow.. from me) has threatened to cut my limbs off. I think she's tired of the snow already.

Anyhow, hubby and I went out to start bailing the truck out so it can be used around midweek (not that we really NEED to shop but a few essentials will need picking up around Wedndesday or so). Everyone in the cul de sac was out shoveling the sidewalks and generally pitching in to get the vehicular transports dug out. It was a very nice feeling....until I noticed some that live at the halfway mark of the cul de sac not shoveling the snow into the yards but dumping it in the middle of the parkinglot! Great, those that live closest to the street ~might~ manage to get out in the next day or so, but thanks to these idiots (who I must guess are assuming the plow will be back to do our lot by Monday *inserts eyeroll*) I doubt anyone living in the dead end part of our area (like us and the cabbies who live 2 doors down and the guy across the sidewalk who owns his own business) will get out much before mid-week. I guess it could be worse. The dude parked 2 spots to our left (in the last spot of the lot) won't be getting out much before July because the plowed snow ends up piled right in front of that particular spot (any farther would put all the snow right on the sidewalk and that pile...well it's a good 6 foot tall...no one's gonna wanna shovel that... plus I'm sure the home association frowns on it, not to mention it's dangerous for the people living in the area). Thanks to the plow I doubt we're going to have any mail pick up until much before July either....

Katy.... sitting near the patio door. Doesn't look like alot of snow, but trust me...she's in the shallow end of the yard! Man, she's really gotta lose weight... but that's fodder for another post.

The snow was so bad that it's wrecked the treeline in the back. There's damage like that all the way the length of the fence. Every time I looked out, another 2-3 trees were down. That one in the center? I HEARD that one go down. There was a loud pop and then next thing we knew *crash*. If it had been another 2-3 feet taller or so, it would have landed on our fence. Not that really would bother me as it's the landlord's responsibility to fix stuff like that. But still, I'd rather they didn't have to do too many repairs while we're here.

Thank goodness I did the laundry before the storm rolled in. That's the door to the shed where the dryer is. I think I'll have to get that bailed out tomorrow, just in case.

PS.... the banner? Yeah that's me...starting to make a snowangel ~smiles~

PSS... not to say that I'm an awesome snowdancer but they're saying we are going to get a bit more snow on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday as well! Iggy, you might wanna bundle up...

Celebrity Doppelgangers

So in Facebook this week, they've been doing the "Who is your celebrity doppelganger?" Actually, it's been more like the which celebrity do (or did) your friends say you most look like? Well, I don't ever recall any of my friends saying I looked like anyone (that's a post for another day...*sigh*) so I ran a couple of my pix thru the generator on www.myheritage.com. I had to down-load a toolbar which I more than likely will be getting rid of in a few days as I really don't need any more crap on my computer. These were the results:

Holy craahp! It's that time of year already??

You know the time of year I'm talking about. the time of year that Styx goes into a frenzy and disappears (oh wait, I already did that... they'll never notice....) for the next several months while praising the creator that invented the Hi-def tv. American Idol season!

Only this year's gonna be different. There isn't going to be any loopy Paula to keep things interesting on the show. This will be (supposedly) Simon's last year. Top things all off, I'm still very much addicted to my games over in ~~Crack~~book. If Chicagolady hadn't been so kind as to remind me, I surely would have missed the first few weeks dealing with the ~~torture~~audition rounds. Now the huge question is:

Which addiction is going to win out?

Surely I don't have enough hours in the day to deal with both, right?

Or...am I going to go insane trying to get it all done?

So much to do to get ready.... time to make a check list.

01) get note book out and in customary place on desk
02) either sharpen pencils or test pens to make sure I don't run out of ink
03) wash and iron panties in case there is a decent male singer or three worthy of a good pantiflinging......

Now, if I recall the Bo Bice site has a premium area (meaning you pay for access, kinda like the Gold accounts in Classmates) and I only have to assume the little blurbit before the music comes out of that area of the site as I didn't see any confirmation in the general free areas. If there is some truth to this (and I'd assume that there is as there are some peeps from that site on YouTube and if they ever saw their site name in a video, you can be damned sure that they'd be up in arms if it was an unauthorized usage and wrong information), then it's time to get very excited as the local WalMarts will be carrying a new Bo Bice cd. WHOOT WHOOT!!

Now, if you'll excuse me...I've got company for the next couple days and really need to get the ~~Crack~~Facebook fix in quick before we get started for the day. There are a few things we'd like to get accomplished today...get her a blog set up, for one! I have a hunch it's going to be ALOT like my Padded Room entries but Im not sure yet... I wanna talk to her more about it first. Help her get some good footing before she leaves here in the next day or so.
