Just could NOT resist!

Cat in a Santa outfit and hat saying... Can i haz 4 calling birds, 3 french hens, 2 turtledoves and would it be possible to get the partridge without the pear tree?

As for the Whatchasee... it's postponed this week (I didnt forget!!!) because I highly doubt anyone will be around to play due to being out for the holidays. We'll resume next week (assuming I remember....)

Update

I've done something very much unusual here today, I've left the news on all day. I don't usually bother because the news is a source of mostly bad news and the last thing I need to drive this depression deeper is more bad news about anything. I worry enough about myself, my dear friends and family members. Many would find the news coverage today really horrid, but for me, a gal who grew up in Central New York and is somewhat accustomed to such weather, I find it absolutely wonderful.

So how bad is it, really?

Many areas have around 18-20" of snow and the meteorologists are calling for another 4-6" tonight.

Nearly everything was either closed all day or closing early due to the snow. No public transport (buses, trains or planes), no museums, no shopping (the malls all closed at 4pm) and more than likely no restaurants (except the few businesses that were staying open to see if they'd get foot traffic).

They're already closing schools for next week. They figure since the mid-winter break is supposed to start Wednesday anyhow, they'd just go give the kids an extra couple days off. The main roads may not be in good shape for Monday anyhow...nevermind the sideroads (I think the term to describe them was pitiful).

Churches are actually CANCELLING their Sunday services.

Yeah...you read that one right.

According to the maps, iggy's getting the brunt of the storm now....and it'll be headed towards Dorkys' shortly there after. Don't blame me, I didn't send it. MY intention was to keep a bit more of it and then send it across the pond to Tori.....

YAY SNOW!!!

There's about 4-5" out there and it's still coming down. I was hoping the vid would pick up the sounds of the snow hitting hubby's coat but I dont think it did.

For your entertainment

Chicagolady sent me an email last night, and as I was reading the lyrics...I realized I knew the song. After a few minutes of digging in Youtube, I found it so I thought I'd share. The lyrics are below the video if you'd care to sing along.

* The first thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me ..... Is finding a Christmas tree.

* The second thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me ..... Rigging up the light stand and finding a Christmas tree.

* The third thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me ..... Hangovers, rigging up the light stand and finding a Christmas tree.

* The fourth thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me ..... Sending Christmas cards, hangovers, rigging up the light stand and finding a Christmas tree.

* The fifth thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me ..... Five month of bills, sending Christmas cards, hangovers, rigging up the light stand finding a Christmas tree.

Ok here's this week's Whatchasee (yeah, I know...two weeks in a row, holy cow!). You know the drill. Put whatchasee in the comments below and then return around 9pm east coast time to find out what, if anything, I saw.

WhatISaw

For some reason, this pick reminded me of:

Well...at least his head....
Told ya I've been uninspired.

Don't piss off a newscaster

yes indeedy! If you're not an A-lister, you can't exactly be expecting to be treated like one...

Personally, if you are going to ask to be on one of these tv shows to promote your work of art... it's THEIR schedule you need to follow, not the other way around. There are other people already scheduled and following the timelines set forth by the program. Now, if THEY (the program) called and wanted to schedule you for an interview, then of course they would need to go by your schedule. Simple, right?

Your thoughts?

Whatchasee?

Sorry, I know it's been several weeks but I've been rather uninspired as of late. I won't go into it now though. It's an entry for another day...

However, in an effort to forstall the "Oh crap I forgot to remind you" email that I've been getting pretty regular from Jeannie (has it been 2 or 3 weeks now, darling?)... I thought I'd drop a Whatchasee just to prove that yes:

01) I am alive

02) I do know how to come up for air now and again from CrackFacebook.

You know the drill. Put your Whatchasee in the comments below and come back later (around 9pm) to see WhatISaw (assuming I saw anything this week...).

PS...Im working at getting back around to al the blogs, I promise. I read about 20+ this morning and am working at reading a few more later after my sleepshift.

For your enjoyment

So yeah, the simplest things make me laugh. In this case, I was looking up a vid for something else entirely and a comment in that other video led me to this one... I didn't remember seeing it as a kid.... Not sure if I'm glad of this or not. Personally, I think someone was dipping too often in the Nyquil when they created this. So for your viewing and reading pleasure I've not only posted the video, but part of the conversation that followed after I'd posted it in CrackFacebook. Names have been modified....

The following conversation then began in response to the Nyquil comment...

Karla: Maybe it was Iggy LOL
LadyStyx: HAHAHA! Just who I was thinking of!
Chicago: All it needed was a few OCHA's!
LadyStyx: and a Charlie or 3..... *laffin*
Chicago: If Beaker and Animal can be in it, the OCHA's and Charlies should be allowed too!
LadyStyx: Not to mention Gonzo the weirdo and his chicken girlfriends....
Karla: OMG..you two! LMAO He would love this wouldn't he? :-)
LadyStyx: So I should stick this in Blogger then, right Chicago and Karla? .oO(yeah...asking permission here before I hit the Post link)

Got permission from Karla, but havent heard from Chicago yet. I suspect, considering she's as much of a "stirrer" as some of us, she won't mind too much.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Family sitting around the Thanksgiving meal and the child says...We have so much to be thankful for. One day a year hardly seems adequate.

I am thankful for each and every one of you. Everyone have a beautiful day.

Another one Im looking forward to

Her cd releases on December 1st :D

The article with the track listing is right here.

is it Tuesday yet???

I am so looking forward to this cd. Thank goodness for the 30 second snippets on Amazon and the couple of Youtube vids (this being one of them) because Im sure otherwise I wouldnt make it til it dropped! The recording is much nicer than what was presented on the AMAs...for sure.

Fliched from Tori's blog (who grabbed it from Wendy's):

You Are Ceramics

You are open to the world and it's possibilities. You are able to start something without knowing how it will end.

You trust your intuition above everything else. Going with your gut often works out.

You believe that every day objects can and should be art.

The best art allows ordinary life to be more stylish and beautiful.

Gee..... another one right on the mark dontcha think?

And this one was ganked straight from Wendy's blog:

Your Personality is Very Rare (INFP)

Your personality type is dreamy, romantic, elegant, and expressive.

Only about 5% of all people have your personality, including 6% of all women and 4% of all men

You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.

This one wasn't a surprise either....

Happy Birthday Tori!!!

So I wracked my brain...to see what I could do...that would be different enough and still be Tori-accessible. I actually went to bed not having a clue. When I awoke this afternoon, I realized a video would fit the bill... enjoyable for all. So her ya go... the birthday song I'd play on my streams everytime I found out there was a birthday in the room. It's my absolute favorite version. Happy Birthday, Tori!

Just fragments

I got this award from Yaya. Thank you, darling. I still have no clue why I receieved it. Is it because I still make my rounds to everyone else's blogs even when I'm not writing in mine? For I certainly have not been faithful to my own blog. The decor's stayed the same for a few months now....it really needs to be refreshed.

Now, I didn't see any rules to this award...but only one name was picked (I'm flattered as Im sure there were others much more worthy). Although a good many of my readers really DO deserve this award (and if it isnt presented to you in the next little bit, please feel free to come by and snag it off my blog...I won't mind), I think all will agree that the next person this absolutely MUST go to is our darling, squirrel stalking, OCHA loving, Spongebob infatuated buddy Iggy.
The weather's been really kinda aggravating lately. It can't seem to decide on whether it wants to be cold or warm.Today we have rain and cold. I think in a week or so, we'll be bringing the fans to the storage unit for the season. I think this week's going to be the week I break out the winter gear. I am wondering how much of it is actually going to fit. I suspect, considering my love of t-shirts and other knit items, that most of it'll still fit.

Got a bag of clothing from the friend of a friend again. Seems she's lost more weight. Kudos to her. I had to laugh while I was trying the stuff on, though. The size 24 jeans wouldn't even come up to my hips. Rather depressing, wouldn't you say? Then I tried on the 20s and they came up and over the butt, but wouldn't button...yeah...that's when I started giggling too. Then I tried the size 22s...which turned out to be a smidge too big (and as of today....I can slide them on and off without unbuttoning or unzipping them). Gotta love the fact companies can't be bothered to standardize their sizes.

Heard from my most recent problem child. Things are starting to work themselves out between us. Im still mad at the situation, but I think I've figured out why certain things haven't been said. I still have to deal with the one email but I suspect this should clear up sometime before Christmas. Her and her sister will be moving to another location soon, without THEIR problem child. I suspect things will clear up soon for them once removed from that situation. Also once they're moved, my problem child will be able to finalize her divorce. In fact, I ~think~ the finalization is this coming Friday. It feels like it's been forever, Then again, mine took even longer to get done.

Hubby and I have been fighting illness all through October and the latter half of September. Well, lemme rephrase, HE'S been sick all this time, I've been fine-ish. I've also had several specialist appointments since I last dropped a serious entry. I won't go into them now because they're an entry all and on their own (the podiatrist appointment was particularly ~fun~ ...sarcasm intended). I may or may not cover them, haven't decided yet. I have another specialist appointment later this month so the medical entry may just wait until then.

I've got some pictures on one of the flash drives around here that I've been meaning to share. I caught a shot of a bird a month and a half or so ago that we don't normally see in our area. If I recall, there were quite a few in our little bloggy circle that posted the same kind of bird and I figured that I'd hold off for a bit on it.

If there's any topic that I've brought up in previous entries that you were wondering about (either I didn't an update on or just haven't given enough details on), please leave it below in my comments and I'll see about getting it addressed in this next week or two.

snitched from Tori's blog...

Your Animal is the Cat

You are independent to the point of being stubborn. You stick to your values.

You are loyal, trustworthy, and honest. You are very devoted to your family.

You are aloof towards those you don't know well, but you are affectionate with those you are close to.

You are a creative, sensual, and mysterious person. You are agile and flexible.

This week's just a preview. I started a new entry in the Padded Room. If I could just get myself pulled away from CrackFacebook long enough, I might just get it done.

Apologies for the missing Whatchasee....I got iggy's post up and completely forgot about the clouds until Thursday. Can I just blame it on the clouds and the fact I dont see them daily anymore? Sun's still down when I go to bed and it's setting when I rise. I have no puffy clouds to remind me it needs to be done...

This week's special WW was inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem from his work, Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (1872), called The Jabberwocky.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Here's this week's Whatchasee one more time. So...what did YOU see?

Well, when I opened the email from Pamela... I went nutso and asked permission to use the picture in onw of the weekly games. Never did answer her question as to what I made of the picture. Seems like we were entirely on the same page though.....

The positioning isn't quite right and I see more of a bald eagle in the clouds, but this picture will suffice.

I think we made it way too easy, otherwise y'all are thinking much like me and THAT'S a scary thing!!

It's been HOW long???

Lately I've been seeing my friends celebrating their bloggy anniversaries and every single time I say... "I really should check and see how many entries I've done" or better yet "How long HAS it been?"

This morning, I noticed a very significant number on this, the 2 Cents blog. I figured, now is as good as any to start running the totals.

I started blogging in Yahoo 360 on October 13, 2005. This makes this past Tuesday my 4th year anniversary. I originally started blogging to work out some of the hurt from the last marriage and it has sense grown into something much much more. It's grown into 10 blogs on this one account that deal with many different topics. As a friend of mine once said "She's got something for everyone". Some of it's just junk and little shares, and others have a bit more meat to them. Either way, it's all me.

The blog numbers are substantial. Not as many as some bloggers (you know who you are), but definitely alot of writing.

2 Cents from a Chaotic Mind has reached it's 500th post as of last night at 9pm.
Life's A Stitch (the Jokes I get in emails): 341
A Journey to Parenthood: 15
Styx Picks (the American Idol/Music blog): 71
The World Can Be Amazing (the home page): 323
Inspirationally Speaking (another blog started in the necessity to clear out the emails): 38
Craft Corner: 9 (I really need to add to this one)
Archived 360s: 124
Memories:1
and finally, the one that really needs more entries, The Like a Phoenix blog (which I often call the Padded Room): 45

For a total of 1,467 entries. Well 1,468 if you count this one.

Alotta words. Not much content. What can I say, deep thoughts give me a migraine. I'm hoping to rectify this someday. Heh. Maybe I should add it to the Bucket List...

**** Be more profound.

Yeah right, I see that happening. Especially with everything going on in my life.

Truck in the repair shop for 4 weeks in a row. It got so I threatened to draw up joint custody papers for her because she obviously LOVES her mechanic. The last time we brought her in, the poor dude nearly had heart failure seeing us. Until hubby told him it was just an oil change. He said we were so wrong for messing with him like that.

Then us into the doctors (and him outta work) for 3 weeks in a row. My sinuses are outta whack and I'm on my 3rd course of antibiotics. I hate this because these last two... well they've given me a certain side effect that I won't go into. Just know it's uncomfortable for me. Hubby has an infection in the sinuses too, I guess. The dr never said where it's just that it shows up in the blood work. He has also been on his 3rd course of antibiotics. Seems to be getting better.

There is some good, however.

I've made a couple trips in August to places unexpected. If you have been checking out my Flickr stream, you'd know what I'm talking about. For those that don't, I made a trip to the military museum as well as the Battlefield. Not exactly my favorite places to be, but I was desparate to get out of the house. I did manage to get through both trips without any major melt-downs. the only problem I had was when we were in the Gift Shop at the Battlefield. It was a bit small with alotta people in it and nothing that I really wanted to look at (unlike the Shop at the museum, which had some jewelry and a couple porcelain dolls, on of which I ended up buying).

We had a vacancy show up in the neighborhood. Let's just say it's mighty peaceful nextdoor and it's been that way since August. No, there wasn't a weird smell coming from under the door but there certainly is one of those realtor lockboxes on the handle. I'm kinda hoping it stays empty until we get ready to move. Then all we have to deal with is the other neighbor's teenage girl who tends to act out now and again. Not often, but sometimes the music gets a bit loud.

I was searching online early Tuesday morning to see what's out there and found a few jobs that I'd be qualified to do so I applied to one. They called me yesterday (Wednesday) for an interview today around 330pm. Unfortunately, the job I applied to wasn't being filled at the time (well then WHY was it listed on your job site???), but we discussed the possibility of a different position. I'm kinda hoping I get it because I can wear what I want that way and won't need to worry about getting uniform shirts and making sure they're clean daily (this company only gives you 2-3 depending on how many hours a week you pull). Besides being able to wear what I want, I'll be working overnight and won't have to deal with customers. Don't get me wrong, I like people just fine...but I'm more of a task oriented person. Give me some freight, a knife and leave me alone and I'll be just fine, thanks. Put me on the floor and expect me to get a task done AND handle the customers at the same time.... not really condusive to a happy worker.

Whatisaw

Here's this week's picture again.

And here's Whatisaw. Actually I was thinking more of the cute pooch from Red and Rover , but I couldn't find a decent enough picture of his profile.

holy crap, it's Wednesday already?

So sorry. I really had meant to have this up this morning. But yet again, time got away from me. Maybe I need to schedule a bunch of these so I dont have to worry....or maybe I need to write it next to the NCIS listing on my dry erase board which has my tv viewing habits listed....

*sigh*

Here's this weeks Whatchasee:

Come back around 9pm east time for the Whatisaw (which I'm delay posting right NOW).

YAY! It's SATURDAY!!!

It's that time of week again!
It's time for Shan's Weekend Wordles.
Here's what ya do:

01) Go to Wordle.net to create your Wordle. It's lots of fun. You can tweak the colors, fonts and such. If you really want to customize your Wordle for your site you can use this color code chart .

02) Post it on your blog with a link to Shan's Week~End Wordles or Last Shreds Of Sanity.

03) Once that's done, go back to Last Shreds Of Sanity and sign the Mr Linky that she'll have up (this will help direct those who play along to your blog...we're talking new peeps reading and maybe new followers for everyone....). Don't forget to leave some love on the sites you visit!!

Do you smell birthday cake?

Ok. Here's the Whatchasee one more time. Did you see anything in it? It was a bit more difficult because it's a darker shot....

How about if we turn it this way. Can you see anything yet? Awww come on....let that child out...I know they're in there!

How about if I play some music for you? .oO(damn, now I'm really datin myself...)

no? Maybe this song instead?

That's right! I saw Bert from Sesame Street.

Let's just be thankful I didn't see Lambchop up there because THAT would have prompted the Sherry Lewis theme... *gigglez*
