Where this gypsy's been, just travelin thru

Got this from over at Jeannie's Blog yesterday. Considering the number of moves I've made (4 being between of the out of state variety) and the traveling to visit family or friends, I knew it had been alot...but WOW.

A few of my friends here have heard me stream before and the running joke was to never ask where I was from but instead ask where I was at. Why? Because where I'm from is a freakin long story. I grew up in New York, but I've also lived (lived as being existing in the state for a minimum of 9 months or longer) in Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Texas and now Virginia. In 2003, there was the Great Escape and I traveled to Indiana, California, Florida and South Carolina. Knowing my bladder (the size of a mustard seed, I swear!)....every state in between any of those points I more than likely stopped for more than 20 minutes in (and knowing me...maybe more than one stop) , so technically that's a visit, right?

Ignore that last link. Ain't nothing worth seeing but considering this map isn't my work, the only nice thing to do is leave the coding alone.

My life, according to

So many great artists to pick but I feel I would be a traitor if I chose anyone other than the group Styx. Wendy and Tori have already done this one. The rules to this game are:

01) Answer the questions as well as you can, but using only song names from one artist.

02) Try not to repeat a song title

03) Pick your own artist, leave mine alone. LOL (ok...so I paraphrased it, I'm following my motto!)

04) Tag a bunch of friends. Well we know I'm gonna be a rebel and not do this, plus I'm already playing along so no tag-backs. Neener neener neener!

My Life According to Styx:

1. Are you a male or female? Lady

2. Describe yourself: Fallen Angel

3. How do you feel? I'm O.K.

4. Describe where you currently live: Castle Walls

5. If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Rockin the Paradise

6. Your favorite form of transportation: Boat on the River

7. Your best friend is: Blue Collar Man

8 . Your favorite color is: Suite Madam Blue

9. What's the weather like? Snowblind (actually I can use Summer in the City as they did a cover of it on the Big Bang Theory album and it DOES make more sense)

10. Favorite time of day: Love in the Midnight

11. If your life was a TV show, what would it be called? Grand Illusion

12. What is life to you? Double Life

13. Your relationships: The Best of Times

14. Your fear: Nothing Ever Goes as Planned

15. What is the best advice you have to give? Light Up (and Be Happy!)

16. If you could change your name, you would change it to: Lorelei

17. Thought for the day: Haven't We Been Here Before?

18. How I would like to die: The Grand Finale

19. My soul's present condition: Not Dead Yet

20. My motto: Do Things My Way

Well aint THAT just special!

It's WW Time!

It's that time of week again!
It's time for Shan's Weekend Wordles.
Here's what ya do:

01) Go to Wordle.net to create your Wordle. It's lots of fun. You can tweak the colors, fonts and such. If you really want to customize your Wordle for your site you can use this color code chart .

02) Post it on your blog with a link to Shan's Week~End Wordles or Last Shreds Of Sanity.

03) Once that's done, go back to Last Shreds Of Sanity and sign the Mr Linky that she'll have up (this will help direct those who play along to your blog...we're talking new peeps reading and maybe new followers for everyone....). Dont forget to leave a comment on the sites you visit!!
Sorry. I'm running on autopilot right now as I'm really tired. Been busy doing computer stuff here tonight. *rolls eyes* Since it's after midnight, I'm just gonna go ahead and post this so I don't have to mess with the stupid scheduling. With my luck, it wouldn't post when it should and I'd be all aggravated later because it didn't.

and now for a word from our author

Ok, I think I just about have this blog to where I want it. I'm actually pleased with the look I have so it shouldn't change too much....well until autumn shows up in the next few months!

Anyhow, you'll notice a few additions and changes. Some will be staying for a while and one or two, well they'll be on their way out the door at month's end.

I've got a new profile pic up. There's this cam sitting on my monitor that I haven't used so I was playing around with it a bit last night (early this morning). I liked some of the effects it did, especially the one that's in the profile pic. It kinda reminds me of Hula's profile shot. Does anyone else miss her? I do. Alot. Anyhow, if ya reading this...that pic is a tip of the hat to you, my dear.

Since I changed my profile pic, I knew Pop N Ice would be going thru withdrawals so I reposted the pic of the kids. I may put a slideshow up of them later just so she can get her Dharma fix in.

The pictures I've been posting that I took are also over in my Flickr account. If you look to the right, you'll see a section called Styx Clyx (originial, I know)... click over there and it'll take you to the account. Feel free to poke around and check the other Clyx over there out. Some pictures have notes and descriptions and in some cases, additional stuff that I don't mention in the entries. I'm trying to decide if it's going to be worth my money to go pro there. It depends on the traffic and if I'm clicking enough to make it worthwhile.

Oh...I found out last night, while going through my brother's Flickr that he'd done a shot similar to my banner one. And here I thought I was being original. Sheesh. Anyhow, that'll change in a few days because I think I found a better shot (I was aiming for the words on the mirror) of it.

Some of you have noticed that I added an email to the profile. Well I'm here to say that I absolutely hate the fact that I caved in to those that clamored for it. Sorry y'all. Why? Because all the updates of comments on my blog go to my main account... it's the account I check multiple times during the day because I generally have a certain IM service running. The yahoo account that the account sends you to, well I don't check it as often so sending something there doesn't always guarantee that I'll get it in a timely manner. I've had a few emails show up and I'd completely forgotten why I left the comment I did. I'm really kinda pissed I caved and NO, I'm NOT about to change it to the main account I check frequently. Most of you know why. The year 2012 is coming fast and I need to make sure the hatches are battened tightly. Anyhow, I'm leaving the email hooked until the end of July, at which point it will be removed again. I figure by that time anyone who really WANTS to contact me will have been given the other email addy. Either way, the fastest way to get a response is to drop a comment here.

I've mentioned some weeding. this will happen sometime this next week I think. I'm following about 50 blogs and only have 24 followers... well 23 that I can see, someone is obviously following as an anonymous because I can't see them (wuss!). Anyhow. Since I've been following everyone's blogs and have been more or less faithful on leaving a comment or three daily and I'm getting so little in return, I have to venture a guess that the bloggy love is only going one way and to be honest, I aint up for a one sided friendship. I've got many other things I could be doing than following all these blogs and not hearing anything back. I've got a pretty good idea on who is leaving the love and who aint but I'll be watching and tracking back a month or so to check out the pattern. Anyone who is following me, is pretty much going to be kept in my "must read" area. Those that comment but don't follow, well I'll be keeping you around too. Those that don't bother? Pbbbbt! If this means dropping a couple that I enjoy because they don't visit...ah well. I've done it before and after a few weeks I simply won't miss 'em.

As for the invisible reader... please drop a comment otherwise I'll take this puppy private and you won't be invited. I'd rather lose readers and keep those that really give a damn to keep the friendships going than to be over stressed and cranky because I have little to no time for anything else (painting, needlework, READING!). I have no clue how those with many more followers manage to keep up with everyone but ya know, I'd be much more than willing if I was being shown the same in return.

NYBro, if this goes private, I'll email you the blogs so you don't miss out.

the trip, pt2

When we pulled in on that Friday night, I saw the most beautiful flowers in mom's "garden". I don't ever recall seeing them before although I'm sure they've been there every time we visit in the warmer months. Anyhow, I suspect that I noticed it now simply because there was a lesson to be learned. What was the lesson? Well, all this time I've been trying to learn the "don't sweat the small stuff" lesson and it was time to add the "pay attention to the little things" part. So the weekend, for the most part, for me was "Pay attention to the little things, just don't sweat them". Because of this lesson (as well as the macro, foliage and zoom settings on my new camera), I got some pix that I normally wouldn't have even tried for (and in one case, normally would have run away from, but that's a story for another day). This particular bloom was on its way out and was quite dead around the edges. You can see another bud that had already gone past expiration. None of the others were bloomed out and it actually made me look forward to waking up the next day there to see if one of the other colors would be opened up for me to capture with my camera.

His mother has this partial rock garden. Actually, I should say that it's a majority rock garden. It's about 85% rocks and some plants. I always thought the purpose of a rock garden was to be all stone? Ah well. There is this interesting corner piece to it, however. I don't know if the tree had originated there and simply been cut down and dug up, or if the wood piece was brought in from elsewhere, but it makes for an interesting shelf for one of the pieces. The guy on the top (as well as a couple of the others) made me think of several of my friends.......
Here's a close-up of the guy up top. Any guesses as to which readers I thought of when I saw him? The monkeys at the base made me think of my GaSis. I had a closer picture of them but it was blurry so I pitched it. I do have other shots of some of the other pieces in my Flickr account. Feel free to pop over and take a look if you care to. I'll be adding more to the TN folder in the next few days. I'm trying to do it a bit at a time so I still have time to do other stuff around here. Well that and the fact I want this to stay fun and not feel like a major chore. While in the pix files, feel free to take your time as I went into details on a few other pictures there.
This guy to the right is a new addition to the family. He's supposed to be the nephew's dog but this guy actually lives at "paw-paw's" house (sissy doesn't want it at her house as she doesn't like dogs and isn't home most of the day anyhow). The pooch's name is Skynyrd, named for that southern rock band. The nephew insists on calling him Snoopy. I found out the dog will answer to pretty much anything so long as it's said with love and results in a good pat on the head. He's 10 months old and is a pretty good size right now. I don't think he'll get too much bigger though.
This is one of the pictures I was mentioning before that will have more details in the Flickr account. Do you recognize the one tree on the left? It's the big one that I clicked back in December. I'm not seeing an entry with the other picture though so I'm not entirely certain I shared it in Blogger or not. I'm not seeing it here but I know for sure I shared it in my Photobucket account. The next tree I don't believe I got a shot of before but I clicked a couple similar trees that trip.
It reminds me a bit of a bonsai tree with the way some of the branches are on it. The only thing it needed is a bit of twisting and contorting. I kinda like the simplicity of this picture. In trying to get the entire height, I couldn't get much more in the frame with it. Maybe it's a good thing, eh? The next day's worth of pictures, I think I got a shot of grandmother's trees while we were out this time too. I'm not certain right now as I'm downstairs on the laptop and the balance of the pictures are on the main computer upstairs right now. It's highly possible it's in the next set of photos. Then again, the next set might be the pix I snapped while we were walking home that one day. Yeah, hubby knew I needed some away time ;).
Anyhow, on this day hubby saw some rather oddly shaped white things in the lawn. There's a distance shot in the Flickr. When he approached, he noticed that they were these HUGE mushrooms (ew). The picture to the left is one next to his foot for a size comparison. They were quite large. *gets up for a sec to check size of hub's slippers* Ok, his slippers are an 11-12 so I'm guessing his shoe is a 10.5 or so. When he realized what it was, he asked to borrow the camera (not "can I have the camera"..."may I borrow" was actually used....Why? Because this camera I bought with MY money so it is definitely MINE. Ok ok...the money was from my account but it was more than likely from funds donated by him. Sheeesh. Picky picky y'all!).
I was so happy to find out, upon rising the next morning, that my hopes that the other blossoms would have bloomed by the next day had, indeed, done just that. The most GORGEOUS reds and yellows ever. Considering that yellows aren't my "thing"....that comment is really kinda telling. This one to the right (again, turned by Blogger against my wishes) is my absolute FAVORITE of the group. Actually, it's my fave of the whole trip I think. It's not a cropping of the other picture of the yellow blooms, this one is SFTC.

The trip out

We had a beautiful day when we started out that Friday morning. The sun was bright and the skies were a gorgeous shade of blue. It was probably the best day we'd had in weeks. The good thing about it was that the roads were nice and clear and visibility was awesome. The bad thing was, as you could see in a previous post was I managed to get sunburned and sun poisoning on my arms from riding so long. The arms are itchy again, but it's a good itch because it means the scabs are ready to come off.

One our way out to the truck, I saw that those pretty purple flowers were in bloom again and since I wanted to play with my macro setting (I'd never used one even on the old camera), I took a few shots. There are more in the photostream if you care to go visit my Flickr account. I think it turned out right nice and vowed to myself I was going to take some time this trip to practice with that setting some more.

One of the things that I notice often, seemingly during trips to anywhere, are the triple crosses on the hills. You see them so often that you actually expect to see them. You don't, however, expect to see them on a truck as shown to the right.

We only saw a couple watertowers on the way. This one was definitely the prettiest of the two. I wish there was a spot along the way were we could have stopped and gotten a decent shot of it. My picture really does it no justice. However, considering we were traveling about 75 mph at the time, I guess this is the best I can hope for.

Talk about your unusual sights! We came up behind this lovely
somewhere in south Virginia. At first glance, we thought they'd simply hacked up an old VW Beetle to use as a carrier for their bike. Kudos on the recycling , dude! Then, as we were passing, we realized.....it WAS the bike. Awesome.

A couple shots of what we saw while coming into Tennessee. It's B*E*A*Utiful
countryside to say the least. Part of me would move there in a heartbeat so long as there was a 2-3 hour (at least) buffer between me and the folks. Although, that close means weekend visits. *ugh* Maybe more like 4-5 hours buffer is necessary! However, the other side of me would totally rebel because I just know that the internet connection out that way would totally suck.

The question I have is WHY is it taking so long to fix??? It's been over 2 weeks now y'all!

thisnthat

As I'd been telling everyone, there has been expansion as well as loss in our area. Some businesses close while some open. We've had a few that simply changed into bigger locations. One of the the ones expanding into bigger digs is the clinic where I go for my weekly allergy shot. This shot to the left is the old clinic location and was snapped less than a week after they moved. Amazing how deserted it looks in about a week's time. It's a great location. I'm wondering who is going to move in next. It may take a while though, as that section to the left used to belong to a gym and it's been sitting empty for nearly a year now.

On the 23rd of June, hubby and I decided to head on over to Logan's for lunch. It was a beautiful day and as usual. I couldn't help but to take some pix of the water fountains (not shown but are in the Flickr photostream). The retention pond was loaded with geese and ducks that day, so I let (how does Di put it? Oh yeah...) "Ms Snappy Finger" do her thing and just click away. After several shots, I decided I'd had enough until I saw....

this guy (or is is a gal?). It was a pleasant surprise as we generally don't see anything other than geese and ducks in the pond. It was nice to see that the waterfowl had a bit of company for a change. I wonder how many other critters are in there with them.

When we got home that day, I saw this pretty robin sitting in the neighbor's tree. I can't believe it sat so long for me to get this shot. We have some cardinals nesting in the trees out behind our backyard fence. Hubby has suggested keeping the old camera downstairs so we can hopefully get a shot of them or at least of the Charlie that keeps running along or fence. I really need to get myself to a zoo (NO! We didn't go while in TN...*pouts*) and run this new camera through its paces. I'd love to see what it gets in the aviary. I'd also like to get to one of those flower or butterfly gardens.

I'm not certain why I clicked this one. I think it might simply be because I loved how the yellow hydrant contrasted against the green of the grass. It turned out to be my favorite shot of the day.
This shot actually inspired one that I took while we were walking through town in TN. It'll get posted in the next week or so. There'll be a whole post on just shots from hubby's hometown. Some really neat buildings and a couple site markers that may interest the historian buffs here.

I couldn't resist this shot. Katy's taken to the habit of putting her paw on hubby's foot as if to say "My Daddy". If he pulls his foot away, she just places her paw over his foot, hooks her toes over the opposite side and drags it back towards her. *laffz* Silly dog. The little blur behind her toosh is her tail wagging furiously. It was going so fast, the shutter couldn't catch it.

I think that'll do for now. Lots more to cover and I don't want to get to the point where this feels like a chore. We all know what happens when THAT occurs.

Thanks for the comments on the new blog name. I think it fits and is something I can live with for a while.

just a few updates

We made it back home sometime yesterday. I'm so happy to be home to be honestly. There's so much to do. I've got nearly 400 pictures to sort, resize and get uploaded to my Flickr account. The project is liable to take me a few days.

I came home to 30 messages in my inbox and 80 entries to read. Yeah, I can tell I've been gone 4 days. It's taken a couple days but I have them down to 39 more to read.....

While we were on or way home, I had a couple more title possibilities come up. I figured that when I got home if there wasn't any more votes I'd add them to the poll and extend it by a week. Imagine my surprise when I checked the poll and found 3 votes last night and then another 2 more this morning. I was even more surprised when the one title ran away with the poll. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.

I've got some weeding to do this week. When blogging begins to feel like a one-sided friendship, it's definitely time to re-assess the blog following procedures.

The trip went fairly well. Everyone survived... surprising. Some of us ended up a tad crankier than others. Then again, if the sun did this to your skin everytime you spent anymore than a few brief minutes in the sun. What you can't see in the picture is the fact that there are little blisters EVERYWHERE on that arm. The sad thing is, even if I use the strongest sunscreen... I ~still~ blister. It's not a heat rash because it just happens on my hands and arms and not on other parts of my body that are covered (where you'd expect heat rash to occur). It's also not an allergy because, like I said, it only happens on the hands and arms and not everywhere that's exposed (in other words, my face doesnt have a problem although I seem to have a very slight problem on the upper chest when wearing a v-neck shirt). The only thing that seems to work on the itch is Benedryl gel. Creams don't work (not even my Aveeno that I use every shot day). I think I'm going to add it to my list for the yearly physical and ask the dr. In the meantime, I need to see about making a lightweight cotton jacket for when I have to be out in the sun for longer than 10 minutes.... but mostly for car rides where I can't get into some shade regularly.

I think that's it for now. I'd like to get some reading done before I crawl in for the night.

It's SATURDAY!!! Game Day!

I'm getting this entry set up on Wednesday night to be posted on Saturday as I won't be home. If someone would be so kind as to get me signed into the Mr Linky on Shan's page, I'd appreciate it. I won't be home until Monday night and would really hate to miss out on playing.

This first one is just a general Wordle. I upped the word count to 500 to see what I'd get. Gee, any wonder that I'm highstrung with all this clogging my brain up?

This next one is a bonus. Those that have been reading my blog the last few days will have a real good idea what it's about. Poll's on top, over to the right>>>>

EDIT 6/29/09. Idiot friggin Blogger must be on the rag because this scheduled post DID NOT FRIGGIN POST WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

You will be missed.

omigoodness...a sighting!

So after my shot and the errand running on Thursday, we pulled into our parking space at the TH and what do we see? This cute little bugger. It might have been our good friend Sugar Bush. I'm kinda hoping so because I've been worried she hasn't written in her blog since Christmas. My dear friend Deanna aka punkn had commented once that Sugar had been spending alot of time raiding the bird feeders in the area. Evidently,as you can well see, that isn't the case.

Squirrel number 1

You see her there? She's sitting at the top of the picture, peeking down from out of frame. But oh! What was that hunny? Look farther down the trunk? Ok....
2 squirrels in tree. One has back to camera and is climbing up and the other is looking down the tree but all you see is the head poking down from the top of the pictureHey! It looks like she's traveling with Charlie! No wonder we hadn't seen him in a while either.

Squirrel number 2As you can see, both of them are doing very well. They squeaked that I could take all the shots I wanted, so long as I passed along to their dear friends that they said hi. They were very adamant about the conditions. So, here it is from Sugar and Charlie:

"Squeak squeak squeak, squeak, squeaker... Squeakin"

2 cents from the chaotic mind

So I think I have the decor up, I'm not sure I'm totally in love with it yet so you may expect it to change a time or two more until I'm satisfied with the results. I've changed 3 more of my blogs over to the 3 column format because I think the new format will service them better as now I can add links for resources in one of the sidebars without junking up the already existing one. In the Padded Room (the Phoenix page), I've started adding links on where to go for help. I hope this helps out someone in the long run. Time to start writing in there again eventually. Been almost 8-9 months since I did anything with that page.

All I have left for this page (other than the title) is to see about getting a sig to actually post everytime without me having to remember to put the code in. I've tried going into the settings section and putting it in the code box but it just won't stick (my luck it's a main code issue and I'll need to do the same thing as when I reworked the header code). Really kinda sucks. I also need to see if I can find a proper widget for the Photostream. I'd much rather have mine look like iggy's with the pictures 2 by 2 instead of single file.

With all the ideas that came in and the comments that sent me into other places looking for ideas, I ended up with a full page (front and back ) of ideas. I suspect there were about 50 possible titles in that list. I've tweaked some of the ideas and narrowed down the possibles to like 7. Now I just need to decide which way I wanna work it. When I get it narrowed down to 2 or 3, I may stick it in a poll to see what y'all think about them. Then again, I just may decide I love one so much that no amount of voting is going to change my mind (and there's one that's getting to be that way) *shrugz*.

Have been having loads of fun with my camera. It seems like the subjects of choice (besides plates for the HLP) have been our "kids", clouds and flowers. I've loaded a bunch more stuff in my Photostream if anyone wants to take a peek. Uploaded several pictures last night once I learned the lesson of "reduce the file so you can fit more into the limit for your freebee account". I'm just waiting on the day that I have to go pro on that bugger. Since I'm loading only the best pix I've taken, I expect it may be a while before I get to that point.

MissSnooty

Aint that look just priceless? She's taken to giving the snooty look every now and then. Especially when I've got the camera in hand....

Katy

This is a SFC (straight from camera) of Katy. We'd just started daytime shift and so had rearranged our Thursday errand run. The groceries had been bought and hubby dropped me off to the dr's while he headed home to put the food away. When I got out from getting my shot, there at the door of the office was hubby and Katy. I told him it was a good idea because this way she gets out for a walk now and again. She loves the road trips too.

Speaking of road trip, we'll be headed to TN for a couple days. We're leaving out on Friday morning. Poochie is going to the "spa" so it'll just be the two of us. We're expecting to be home sometime Monday. I'm angling for a day away from the family and a side trip into Knoxville. Hopefully, I can get some zoo pictures. I haven't been to a zoo in a couple years or more. Please keep us in your thoughts as we travel that we arrive safely, that I don't end up with sunpoisoning or hives and that I don't freak out and finally kill my MIL. Thanks.

Honeysuckle

While we were out the other week, hubby saw this beautiful honeysuckle plant. He said that if he was certain on what type of pesticides were used while the trucks were spraying, he would have picked some. Says they taste really nice and sweet. Once we get into our own place again (eventually), I'll have to remember to plant some.

two-tone tulips

I can't remember where I saw this beautiful flower, but I really wish I'd thought to grab a few more shots of it. I suspect it was at a business somewhere. Which reminds me, hubby came home early today and took me out to Logan's. I got some more water fountain and geese shots. Unfortunately, as sunny as it was, I couldn't tell if they were good or not and won't know until I get back upstairs for the day.

Actually....I've got another set of pix I need to upload tonight. I didn't want to put them in my Photostream until I was ready to write about them. I think I'll work on them tomorrow sometime.

Found out a couple weeks ago that my stylist no longer works for the salon I'd been going to and of course no one there will give up where he headed to. I'm still in mourning. Ended up having to color my own hair. I hate doing it myself. The solution stinks and the bathroom isnt nearly well ventillated enough. Plus I can never get a color that looks good on me. Now that I'd been going pro and he'd found a nice color and style for me, I hate the fact he's no longer there. I think I got close though with Nutriesse Chocolate Caramel. It's supposed to be a medium golden mahogony brown.... looks more red on me than anything. I'll have to get hubby to get a pic of me outside.

Looking at the comments from my last post, it seems someone has gotten a trifle spoiled with me posting everyday-ish. Hun, I don't post everyday anymore as there isn't much to say and it got to the point where it was just riding stats. No sense boring everyone to tears with that. Yes, I'm still riding...I just had to modify it a bit.

I think this'll need to do for now. Got a few more things but I don't want an entry too long. I know, too late.

***edit 12am. I think I got the sig figured out. I was right, it was a main coding issue and a pain in the ass to find. I'm hoping it'll work each time now. I think so as I just pulled up a new entry as though I was going to write in it and it already had code in there. I also figured out how to remove the box from around my sig and pictures. Whoot! Go me! Now to work on that Flickr Photostream problem...but not tonight. I'm tired and ready for bed.

It's that time of week again!

Sorry it looks a bit smaller than usual. Normally, I reduce the word count to about 75-100 words but I felt with the updating I was doing that I'd bump up the count to about 200+, just to make it more interesting.

a little of this and a little of that

I was over visiting at razorsandvines the other day and saw this quizzy thing she did. I figured, what the hell. I wasn't really overly surprised with the results to be honest.

I'm a O30-C35-E27-A10-N84 Big Five!!

About a week and a half (or was it two weeks) ago I sent several packages out. A couple care packages and about 3 cards (4 if you count the one in one of the care packages). Once card went to my "sis" in Georgia and the other to my dad. I know it was early but if I didnt send it when I did, I would have forgotten. Anyhow, below are the two cards with the insides pasted at the bottom of each respective card.

Yeah, I got some real class...LOL. At least I know they'll get a laugh. If I sent mushy ones, I would have gotten phone calls demanding who I was and where the "real" LadyStyx was. They know me too well.

We popped into McKay's Secondhand books a couple times the last few weeks. It's wonderful to be finding some of the books I read as a kid for next to nothing, it surely beats paying full price. I found a few more books off the list I carry in my purse. Big Red was a hard one to find, actually almost anything from that author is hard to find. I actually "discovered" a new series written by Teri Farley while I was in Borders a couple weeks ago and have been working at getting every book in the series. I've got all but 5 books now. Best thing on this series? The fact that each book has only cost me $0.75 each.

We've had quite a bit of rain here lately. While waiting for my nutritionist appointment last week, I saw on the news that we'd had 12 days of rain in 17 days. Here it is a week later and we've had several days more. The stinking weather is so bloody unstable that it's ridiculous. Today we had a cloudy cool day until afternoon and then it got sunny and humid. *bah* Shortly afterwards we had a bit more rain. I'm really getting tired of it. More rain means the weeds and grass grow quicker and on a dry day? Well my allergies act up.

I guess this will suffice for now. There's lots more little bits to write about so with any luck I'll have a few more days worth of entries. However, right now I'd kinda like to get the pix from the camera uploaded and the plates I captured sent to the Photobucket account. I've got the name narrowed down some and I may or may not put it to a vote depending on how sold I am on one of the choices.

Oh...and BRM? The WW is already up in a scheduled post. It should pop up around 5am or so.
