While I was going through my files here on the computer looking to weed things out and generally organize a bit, I came across this old picture of myself that I had scanned in a few months back. The picture was taken with one of those Polaroid Instamatics that were so popular at the time. I've cropped off the bottom white part but the original has "15yrs" written on it which puts this at being taken late 1984 or early 1985 and I was a sophomore in high school. The yellowish cast is thanks to the chandelier that was hanging in that room. Just past the arch is the livingroom...the door to the right led to my bedroom. I was at the age and right size to share clothes with my mom at the time so I raided her closet pretty regularly. This was one of my favorites of her dresses. Considering how Im dressed, I suspect it was one of the weekends where I was working the ticket tables for my mom in the community theatre we belonged to. I'm kinda hoping to get back down to that size again someday.....

Definitely had the 80's hairstyle goin' there. Is that an ironing board off to the right? Interesting wall decoration behind you too. Is that a patterened wallpaper? What's the oval?

Yeah...that one side never wanted to curl right. I have very fine hair but LOTS of it so it was a chore to get it to cooperate if ya know what I mean. Yes, that was the ironing board, it was permanently put up so mom could iron dad's shirts in the morning. That wasnt wallpaper...the wall was actually textured (and a bitch to paint when they prepped the place to sell). That room was supposed to be a dining room but we used it as a family/sewing/gaming/dancehall/whatever else room. That oval was a plaque my mom had...cant remember what it said at this point....

Wow! What a knockout! That's the dress you were wearing in the 'Adventure of Supercone'!

I can see what you mean about the textured wall - yikes. Do they still do that sort of thing anymore?

You keep that biking up and you'll be surprised at how close you will get to that tiny size. My mother-in-law has the same textured wall in her house (built in the 30's). We've already decided when it is time to sell it, we are hiring the painting that will have to be done out. Not going to even go there! Cool picture.

Thanks iggy. Just wish some of the guys woulda seen that back then...
Im not sure about the walls. I've seen textured walls before just not like that since I lived in that house...

Thanks punkn. My folks ended up having to paint it. It would have been fine but they were smokers for a long time and you could tell where things had been up on the walls for years...

I hope so Alice. If I recall...that dress was either a 13/14 or a 15/16 which puts me around 130-140 in that picture. That was a good healthy weight for me....not that the drs charts would admit to. My frame's got big bones in it and to put me at the weight the charts say (125 for my height), Im positively skeletal. Of course, at the time...I always felt fat around my classmates simply because I was built bigger. Sad when you're bigger than many of the guys....
